Growth must be chosen again and again…

goal setting tips

A big part of being human is being human. And, being human means having emotions. We all feel fear, sadness, anger, love, hate, disappointment, joy, and more. What makes us each unique is how we respond to those emotions.

“One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth.  Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.”

Our fears hold us back and keep us from realizing high goals and reaching our potential. Fear makes a lot of things appear to be much harder and more painful than they really are.

“What one can be, one must be…. Even if all needs are satisfied, we soon develop a new discontent and restlessness, unless the individual is doing what he is fitted for.”

“People with intelligence must use their intelligence, people with eyes must use their eyes, people will ball skills must play ball, people with the capacity to love have the impulse to love and the need to love in order to feel healthy. Capacities clamor to be used, and cease in their clamor only when they are used sufficiently.”

“A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write poetry, to ultimately be at peace with himself.”

Abandon your fears, face off your doubts and cut off your laziness today..Choose growth ..

Good luck..

Finding your great spirit against violent opposition…

motivation tips

One of my favorite quote from Einstein, which went,”Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds”

We all possess both a great spirit and mediocre mind. The challenge in turning our Ideas into million dollar or even billion dollar asset is often the battle between our own great spirits and our own, often mediocre, minds.

Whenever a persons mediocre minds begins to oppose their own great spirit,I always remind them this. There are many people with great Ideas but very few people with great amount of money. It does not take great ideas to become rich but it does take great person behind the idea to become rich.

You must be of strong spirit and strong in your convictions to turn your ideas into fortunes.

Even if you understand the process via which your ideas can become millions even billions of dollars, always remember remember great ideas only become great fortunes if the person behind the Idea is willing to be great. Are you willing and ready in mind to be great..? Many of us are not,it scares up.

It is often difficult to keep going when everyone around you is saying,” you cant do it”. You must have a strong spirit to withstand the doubt of those around you.But your spirit must be even stronger when you are the person saying to yourself ” you cant do that”

Your own greatness is often found at the end of the road, and when it comes to turning your ideas into money, there are many times when you come to the end of the road. The end of the road is when you are out of Ideas, out of money, and filled with doubt. If you can find in yourself the spirit to go on,you will find out what it really takes to turn your ideas into great assets.

Turning an Idea into a great fortune is more of a matter of human spirit rather than the power of human mind.

Finding your entrepreneurial spirit and making it strong is more important than the idea or the business you are developing.Once you find the entrepreneurial spirit, you will forever be able to take very ordinary ideas and take them to extraordinary fortunes.

Always remember the world is filled with people with great Ideas and very few people with great fortunes..

Good Luck..

Here… On owning it…

If you announce what you want, if you are clear about what’s on offer, if you set goals…

the chances of accomplishing your goal go up, and so does…
the chance that you will be disappointed

For many people, apparently, it’s better to not get what you want than it is to be disappointed. The resistance is powerful indeed.

Every time you use waffle words, back off from a clear statement of values and priorities and most of all, think about what’s likely instead of what’s possible, you are selling yourself out. Not just selling yourself out, but doing it too cheaply.

Own your dreams. There is no better way to make them happen…

Good Luck

Tenacity.. ? not the same as persistence…

how to form a good habit, how to aquire a new habit

Persistence is doing something again and again until it works. It sounds like ‘pestering’ for a reason.

Tenacity is using new data to make new decisions to find new pathways to find new ways to achieve a goal when the old ways didn’t work.

Telemarketers are persistent, Nike is tenacious.

Get into and Good Luck..

Here;Embrace the fog of uncertainty…

sam muchai dolphins group blog

The great Scottish historian Thomas Carlyle once wrote, “Nothing is more terrible than activity without insight.”
This is especially true today, as we grapple with the problems posed by continual change.
Problems which make it difficult to foresee, let alone control, the near-term future.
In response, many leaders have taken an impulsive, fear-driven route.
They ignore their brand–their inspiring purpose and unique point of view.
And rely instead on fire-fighting and command and control.
And their people have naturally responded by going through the daily motions and camouflaging problems.
There are no fresh perspectives, since a culture of fear stifles creativity and candid discussions.
I heard someone once compare a lack of organizational focus to hitting a thick fog while driving.
We tense up and slow down.
We become a two-fisted driver.
We turn down the music and order people to be quiet.
We lean forward to get a few more inches “out there,” looking for little markers to get us through the present “situation.”
And what happens when the fog lifts?
We relax and speed up to make up for lost time.
Well, here’s the problem: the fog is not going to lift this time.
It’s now a permanent part of the business environment (kind of like South Scotland).
You can either be timid and anxious and hope you “get there.”
Or you can embrace the fog, get your people and customers on board, step on the gas, crank up the tunes, and enjoy the ride.
Which ride you choose is entirely up to you.
I know which ride I’d choose.

Start cutting!

motivation tips

There’s an old carpenter’s saying.
“Measure twice, cut once.”
It basically means that you should double check your measurements before cutting a piece of wood.
Because once it’s cut . . .  it’s cut.
That’s great advice if you’re dealing with a static plan.
But terrible advice for dealing with a dynamic marketplace.
Instead, find a problem that needs fixing.
Or an idea or cause that inspires you.
And then start cutting!
Passion will move you forward.
And circumstances will conspire to sustain you.
Like what happened to the protagonist in the film Kon-Tiki.
He set sail on a balsa wood raft.
From South America to the Pacific Islands.
To prove that Polynesia was populated with humans from Peru.
Once he set his idea in motion, all sorts of unexpected factors cooperated with him.
The balsa wood expanded in the water and bit into the hemp ropes.
Creating a tight seal, resistant to the stresses of the ocean waves.
Every morning edible flying fish would land on the raft.
Providing nourishment for the challenging day ahead.
Yes, he measured and made a raft.
But then he stopped measuring and made an act of faith.
One that took him 4,300 miles in 101 days.
And made his idea a reality.

This is a tricky time…

innovation tips

How do you support your existing business and brands, while embracing the dynamics of change?

How do you keep growing and cash flowing, while investing in new opportunities for growth?

It’s tricky, but essential.

Steve Jobs once remarked, “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”

Unfortunately, that’s not true any longer.

Today innovation distinguishes a survivor.

If you haven’t been watching, followers eventually become road kill in this fast-moving marketplace.

Don’t delude yourself by imagining that your category is different (or that you have more time).

And please don’t think for a minute that you can hold on to it all.

For as Thoreau made clear, “You never gain something but that you lose something.”

Who have you astonished today…?

Becoming better

Each leaf,
each blade of grass
vies for attention.

Even weeds
carry tiny blossoms
to astonish us.

– Marianne Poloskey

We’ve waited long enough. It’s time to wake up and astonish people in order to get our businesses and our economy growing again. Sadly, I know a lot of smart people at organizations large and small who remain curled up in their comfy nests, hoping that the marketplace will miraculously return to them.

Many have had their budgets cut, and their people are frightened and disengaged. The competitive environment (status quo) is putting pressure on their margins and, in many cases, their very survival. The resulting effect is similar to what happens to people drowning in icy water; they’re gradually losing their dexterity, will and consciousness.

Astonishment is the way out of the downward spiral.

Astonishment is about empathy, creativity and experimentation. It’s about turning people on to an idea and bringing it to life for their benefit, and for yours. It’s about developing and stimulating the use of new products and services, as well as the sharing of novel ideas. It’s about discovery.

Astonishment is a hunger fed. It’s an itch unexpectedly scratched. It’s your obsession with figuring out how to captivate people. It’s about waking up and breaking out of the limiting cycle of best practices, benchmarking, and other forms of ho-hum imitation.

Marketplace success is about uniqueness and passion. It’s a by-product of novel ideas that unlock people’s hearts and minds; ideas that astonish and stimulate desire.

Churchill said it best, “The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays is coming to its close. In its place we are entering a period of consequences.”

Don’t think. You’ve thought long and hard enough. Thinking is now your enemy. Instead, do what you know you need to do.

“You’ve got to jump off cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down.” – Ray Bradbury

“If you don’t start, you can’t fail”

how to start

It sounds ridiculous when you say it that way.

But of course, it is ridiculous. It’s (quite possibly) the reason you’re stalling.

On the other hand, there’s no doubt that, “If you don’t start, you will fail.”

Not starting and failing lead to precisely the same outcome, with different names.

Make your choice Today…

Belief is created,not communicated…

motivation tips

You’ve probably heard this expression:

“If you want people to think you’re funny, don’t tell them you’re funny. Tell them a joke.”
So why don’t more people follow that advice?
Because joke writing requires creativity, time, and effort.
It’s not easy to create something original and compelling.
And joke telling takes guts.
It’s not easy to risk failing in front of others.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, if you’ve got game) creativity and guts are what it takes today to separate your ideas from the scores of others in today’s saturated marketplace.
The days of buying attention and communicating belief are on life support.
People are weary and wary of messaging and marketplace promises
Today you earn belief through the tangible details of your offering and the inspired actions of your people.
So focus intently on your idea.
Have an ambitious purpose.
And understand the tangible issues that will ultimately make the greatest difference to your people and to your audience.
Then look at what you do, why you get out of bed in the morning, as an opportunity to stand out and rise above the growing sea of sameness.

Don’t spend your days pickled in a world of parity, marinating in minutiae while your ideas and unbridled spirit shrivel up and die.
Grab yourself (and your people) by the collar, yank yourself off of your comfortable, well-worn path and create something distinctive, meaningful, and emotional.

P.S. Who will win the next election, next deal, next customer, next life partner? Obviously, the candidate who has created the most belief.
